Head Pastry Chef, Retail Kitchen

Salary, negotiable 

Job Duties:

  • Prepare and bake a variety of high-end pastries and sweet goods, such as vienoisserie, French-style petit gateaux and entremets, ice creams/sorbets, confections and to-go products
  • Monitor ingredient stocks, ensure equipment quality
  • Manage and guide Junior Pastry Chef
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and transport of raw materials as needed
  • Monitor product inventories and organize production schedule and staffing accordingly
  • Product development in collaboration with the Executive Chef/Owners including planning, research, and recipe testing
  • Update recipe specifications in Excel/costing software
  • Jump in to help in Retail Shop if needed

  • 3 years experience as Pastry Sous Chef or Manager at reputable establishment
  • Strong ability to manage production with efficiency and minimal waste
  • Strong time management and communication skills

  • Creative, innovative and eager to learn
  • Diploma or certification from an accredited relatable is preferred


Junior Pastry Chef, Full Time

Starting Salary, $18 per hour

A LA FOLIE is searching for up-and-coming culinary talent to join our team.  The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, humble, and dependable.

Job Duties:

  • Scale ingredients 
  • Help with the production of pastries and weekend viennoiserie 
  • Set out pastries, macarons, and ice cream each morning 
  • Assist customers as needed in-store and via phone
  • Make creams, cakes, doughs, and other components for pastries
  • Assist with retail kitchen operations and communicate accordingly with the Executive Chef/Owners
We are looking for someone with experience through a culinary program or working professional experience; technical skills. Someone who wants a future as a pastry chef. And someone who understands the value of working in a pastry kitchen like ours. The position will be primarily in our pastry shop, but they’ll get to learn the macaron production as it’s extremely valuable career advancement and for versatility of skills amongst our entire chef team.


Retail Manager, Part Time

Starting Salary, $20 per hour

A LA FOLIE is searching for a seasoned dynamic Retail Manager with great customer service with dedicated weekend availability.

Job Duties:  

  • Prepare Macaron Pre-Orders
  • Maintain Product Inventory
  • Package Products
  • Organize Retail Store
  • Service In-Store Customers
Full weekend availabity is needed Friday through Sunday.


Delivery Driver & Warehouse Worker

Starting salary, $20 per hour

A LA FOLIE is looking for a dependable person to help us with a wide variety of tasks.   Duties include delivering macarons in Chicago to our wholesale clients in our delivery van.  Weekly shopping at Restaurant Depot, which requires heavy lifting.  Driving ingredients, materials, and supplies from our warehouse to our Production Kitchen and Retail store; all locations are in South Naperville.

The hours for the position are limited: only 6 - 10 hours per week.

Cookie Packer, Part Time

Starting salary, $16 per hour
Hours approximately 12 pm - 4 pm Monday - Friday

Help package our macarons at our production kitchen!  In our friendly work enviornment you'll help our team of chefs complete our macaron process by putting the top and bottom together of our macarons.   You'll move the macarons to trays and boxes which will eventually be distributed to our customers.

We are looking for someone outgoing, smart, and dependable.

Retail Associate, Part Time

Starting salary, $16 per hour

A LA FOLIE is looking for a versatile employee to help us package our macarons after our morning production.  This is a great position for a high school senior with early release or someone looking to pick up a stead afternoon position.  

We are looking for someone punctual, fast-moving and organized. 

Job Requirements:
